Acupuncture is an ancient but tried and tested system of traditional Chinese medicine. It is one of the fastest growing complementary therapies in the west. Approximately 7% of the adult population in the UK have received acupuncture.

The NIHCE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) has recently decided to recommend acupuncture as one of the treatments of choice for patients for persistent non-specific back pain. The key is that acupuncture works!

The aim of acupuncture is to regulate the meridians of channels of the body or re-open the stagnation of Qi (energy). The Qi can be enhanced, improved and nourished so that the patient is not only symptom free but also healthy and full of vitality.

The practitioner first inserts the needle to penetrate the skin and reach the correct point depth. Then you should feel a slight sensation as the needle contacts the Qi. The sensation can be a tingling, ache numbness or a sensation of heat.

Acupuncture is used to treat a wide range of conditions, from Headache, Migraine, Indigestion, IBS, Sports Injury, Back Pain, Frozen Shoulder to Infertility, etc.

Chinese Massage is an effective and comprehensive therapy and is regarded alongside acupuncture, herbal therapy as one of the fundamental arts of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Chinese massage is remedial massage. It is similar in its beneficial effects to acupuncture only in Chinese massage, palm and finger pressure are used instead of needles. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension and blockage in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure along the acupuncture channels and points

Chinese massage is also deep tissue massage and a hands-on mobilising of the joints. Working together with acupuncture, it is one of the most effective and readily available ways to improve quality of movement and muscle strength quickly, prevent and treat a wide range conditions.

Chinese massage is used in combination with acupuncture and herbal medicine to maximise benefits.

It is widely used for stress, anxiety, pain, sports injury, frozen shoulder and general well being.

Chinese herbs include a wide range of natural resource, from flowers, leaf, seeds, and roots to barks. Each of them has one or more functions. Chinese herbs are said to regulate the organs and the immune system. They also assist greatly in helping some illnesses such as Eczema, Stress, Indigestion, Insomnia, ME, and ailments.

The practitioner prescribes a combination of up to 20 herbs according each individual patient's condition. Each prescription is therefore tailor-made. Patient starts to take the medicine every day. As the treatment continues, practitioner closely monitors patient's progress through regular consultations altering the prescription and dosage.

There are three types of Chinese herbal medicine available: dry herbs to be taken as tea, herbal tablets/capsules, and lotions.

Reflexology based on the principle that there are reflexes (special zones) on the hands and feet correspond to all the organs, glands and parts of body. Using thumbs and fingers massage special zones on the feet stimulate the corresponding part of the body so that any disharmony and blockage within the part of the body could be cleared and with the correct flow of energy, the body parts would function correctly.

Reflexology is safe for people of all ages. It can help with a wide range of conditions, such as Insomnia, Infertility, Headache, etc.
